Give thanks! I was profiled today, the first day of business of 2011, in Who’s Who in Black Canada. As I said to a friend it’s too bad we still have to differentiate but indeed in Canada, great as it is, for the support of many still do. Many people are still marginalized for their [...]

On Nov. 7th, I had the pleasure of directing a very special event for Ve’ahavta, a Canadian humanitarian and relief organization, motivated by the Jewish value of Tzedakah (Justice). Ve’Ahavta assists the needy at home and abroad, through volunteerism, education, and acts of kindness, while building bridges between Jews and other peoples. The event presented [...]

In 2008, Marlene MacPherson was a successful corporate executive living on the fast track. Her lifestyle ground to a sudden halt after she discovered a lump during breast self-examination. The news was not good! She had stage 3 breast cancer. Now, one year after treatment, with a body and spirit in need of a new [...]

When you’re busy as a bee doing what you are privileged and love to do, who’d think there’d be even more thrilling things you could also be doing.  I’m a producer to the core. I’m fully aware that this is my gift. And it wasn’t until a friend/colleague of mine, Patricia Scarlett piped up that [...]

Thanks to FT and In Fashion’s Glen Baxter for covering this event – Harbourfront’s LuminaTO offering for 2008. We decided to remount the hugely stylists competition from the previous as part of the weekend’s opening ceremonies. The theme this time was water godesses. Appropriate on thunderous Toronto rainy night.

This was a show we put together at Harbourfront as part of Toronto’s LuminaTO’s arts festival. We decided to make it into a stylists’ competition, to show the stylists as artists which they are. For this event competing stylists were given a small budget to create a fashion collection using used clothing, found objects, whatever, [...]

It was a terrific experience exec. producing Smokin’ Lounge – bringing together, Hoax Couture, Molly Johnson and director, Mateo Guez. The film was supported by and broadcast on BravoFACT and Fashion Television. FT tracked the whole process and covered the film’s premiere at the Reel World Film Festival. This is FT’s coverage on In Fashion [...]

A fun production incorporating some brilliant creative ideas.

This show, for the Toronto Fashion Incubator, was one I really enjoyed producing. My client, the fabulous Susan Langdon, was super passionate about mounting a great show. And she loved the treatment I proposed. The payback was huge, simple as it was, using video clips from classic films to set the tone for each collection, [...]

This is a show I did years back for an audience of Aveda professionals from around the globe, numbering appr 4-5,000. It’s called the Evening Performance as it’s just that. After along day of independent presentations from big hair and make-up stars, everyone gets dolled up, comes out for a big big social evening and [...]
